Hello Everyone with St. Catharines Real Estate Investment Properties!!
I trust you all had a happy Hallowe’en!! We enjoyed an office pot luck and everyone had amazing costumes!! Cherry was Princess Leia (Star Wars Episode IV: New Hope Leia if we’re being specific) and I was Robin of Batman and Robin. My daughter’s name is Robin and our conversation went like this:
Me: Robin, what’s daddy’s costume?
R: with a big smile on her face “ROBIN!!”
Me: no, that’s your name, what is daddy’s costume?
R: ….
Then we’d laugh together 😛
Robin was Batgirl for Hallowe’en. She’s not into dolls or princesses for now and I’m hoping it stays this way. I’d rather her role models be those who are heroic and selfless. We do our best to lead by example as well as we are quite frugal, squirreling away as much capital as possible in order to purchase our next investment property.
Our son Bruce was a Minion from Despicable Me because the costume was so darn cute 😛
We all had a blast trick or treating. I think I set a personal record for the least candy I’ve eaten for a Hallowe’en: one Kit Kat and small bag of Lays Chips. 🙂
New Interactive Zoning Tool!!! As many of you Hamilton real estate investors have experienced, the old zoning lookup function was slow and terrible. It was so bad, the city took it down and instructed us real estate investors to call in to the Planning Department.
Below is the press release from the City of Hamilton’s Economic Development Office who is a key resource for all of you with Hamilton real estate investment properties.
“The Hamilton Economic Development Office is now pleased to share the news that a brand new interactive zoning tool is available for investors and brokers/realtors. This map is mobile friendly, and includes features such as zoning, vacant lands, property information, sewer and water main locations, and bus routes. To view the new tool, follow this link: https://spatialsolutions.hamilton.ca/ZoningLookup/. “
Below is a screen capture of Realtors Association of Hamilton-Burlington office at 505 York Blvd. Note the pop-up window showing details of the property and those tiny arrows in the top right of the window, in this example, we see page 2 of 3 of the property’s details.
On page 3 of 3 there is a link to the zoning by law specific to the subject property’s zoning code, saving you from having to look it up yourself.
Well done City of Hamilton! Myself and others with real estate investments in Hamilton thank you! FYI – my first search was one of my properties to check if I could add a basement suite! 😛
Thanks for reading and happy St. Catharines real estate investing everyone!
